We live in a time where technology is the key to the advancement of becoming bigger, better, faster and more efficient. So how do these technological changes affect the construction world? Little is known by the average home owner of these advancement in materials that can make their home stronger or more energy efficient.
Let’s start by explaining why people feel the need to plaster their walls. Long ago, prior to the invention of gypsum board, walls were made by adding latts to a wall and later adding approx an inch of horsehair plaster to create a smooth finish to a wall. Plaster and how its applied has changed dramatically. Currently, blueboard is used with a skim coat of plaster to give it the final finish.
So what difference does mudding and taping provide verses plastering your walls? By using today’s products, honestly not too much. The use of gypsum board or drywall provides much strength to your walls. By using a professional Drywall company like A.V. Drywall , you can get that same smooth finish that provides the look of plaster without all the cost. A.V. Drywall provides over 30 years experience. This 30 years experience shows in the quality of the work they provide. Plaster does provide some additional strength to your wall but not as much as you think. It does however add much cost to finishing of your room.
